The displays opened with Jim Morrow and Austrian postal stationery card of the 1870 to 1899 period. This showed the development of the design of the cards, including the various languages involved in the country, and the variety of towns from which the cards had been sent. Alun Southwaite presented the stamps of USA issued between 1851 and 1944, being definitive, commemorative, postage due, special delivery and airmail issues.
The second round opened with Railway Postal Stationery presented by Ian Hamilton. This comprised a variety of postcards, wrappers, lettercards and envelopes, all with a railway connection, either in the text or a picture. The closing display was by the Bearsden president, Jimmy Crawford, who presented a selection postmarks and/or postcards from Glasgow, all including “hill” in the name.
